Existence
is a wondrous experience. The world around us has a capacity for
incredible beauty and it is my mission to capture the echoes and
fragments of the awe it presents to our sight and to our mind. There
are moments I perceive and other moments I can only envision. My
fervent wish is to collect the light of the world and combine it
with the light within to create a magical perception of my
perspective on living. In words and pictures I mold an idealistic
(and surrealistic) view of the world within my grasp. The work is
incomplete until I can share it and pass the wonder on to the next
soul.
I set out
seeking for light and, yang to its yin, darkness. In my mind I
visualize the colors, textures, and feelings I am attempting to
capture and convey. To me, time is also an element of the image I
mirror. Flow and ebb are as much a part of what I seize from the
context of my environment as are light and shadow. I look and I
wonder as I scan the surroundings, what hidden details of time and
exposure are lurking within my view-yet hidden from my conscious
sight.
Today, I find the
images in the world and bring them back to my desk to enhance,
augment, and mold into a truer picture of that which I divined
within my mind upon wresting the image from the world. The elements
of water and sky, stone and woods, and mist and shadow are commo n
themes in the images I seek. The camera becomes an extension of my
sight and the computer the muse of my imagination. The images that
follow are the timeless breaths of the life I have transcended and
now wish to share. |
